Essie Nail Polish Haul + Swatches

Hello everyone,

Recently one sunny Saturday afternoon I headed into Myer to have a look at what I could buy with a Myer Giftcard that was soon to expire. I wanted to take full advantage of the End of Financial Year sales so I had deliberatly left it to the last minute. Along with two amazing new pairs of vibrantly coloured bras I also ended up at the Essie stands (of course). Then out of the corner of my eye I saw big baskets of heavily reduced makeup/polish, and what did you know - I found ESSIE!

After at least a good 15-20 minutes of trying to decide which polishes to choose I ended up buying:
    • Essie 'Tie The Knot' (640)            RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = $9.45   AUD
    • Essie 'Sand Tropez' (745)             RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = $10.00 AUD
    • Essie 'Spaghetti Strap' (560)         RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = $9.45   AUD
    • Essie 'Mint Candy Apple' (702)      RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = $13.26 AUD
    • Essie 'Knockout Pout' (723)          RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = $10.00 AUD
    • Essie 'Sexy Divide' (666)              RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = $9.45   AUD

    • Essie '3-Way Glaze' (6023)           RRP= 18.95 AUD   I got it for = FREE
    • Essie 'Top Coat' (6020)                RRP=18.95 AUD    I got it for = FREE

TOTAL SAVING OF = $89.99 AUD   (including FREE items)

What is Essie's secret to its success?
“The polishes satisfy two needs,” says Essie. “They’re classic yet fashionable. You can be a little bit more daring on some days, or more elegant on others. But the beauty is, no matter which color you choose, if your nails are done, your look is finished. It pulls everything together.”

What are your thoughts on Essie polishes? How do they compare with other higher price polishes on the market? Are they worth the hype?

Have a beautiful week!

100 Subscribers - THANKYOU from me to you!

Hello everyone,

This is a special post to thank each and everyone one of you!

Over the weekend I noticed that I had reached 100 beautiful subscribers! When I began this blog in November last year I felt like an absolute novice and honestly quite daunted by all the wonderful blogs that I would visit and read each day. I was unsure that people would even want to read what I wrote. But, one thing that I have discovered is that people in the blogging community are those special gems in society!

I appreciate each comment and kind word, (I read them all) and they honestly make me smile. I've found blogging is a great way to feel connected with other like minded people whether it be in Australia or worldwide. It’s bizarre how I feel like I know some of you when we’ve never even met. So, thank you for reading what I write and interacting with my blog, it makes my heart happy!

A very special thank you to those who have nominated me for awards – they certainly lifted me up and kept me going. The first award I received was the One Lovely Blog Award from Nadya at Beauty Is Effortless . The Versatile Blogger Award by Carmen at La Makeup Posa . Then the Liebster Blog Awards from Lauren who blogs at Lauren's MAC Affair and Victoria from The Little Fogey. Love you girls! x

A BIG THANK YOU you to all you lovely subscribers and readers who have encouraged and supported me on my journey

If your thinking of subscribing or just want to say hi, the links are in the sidebar to the right   ------->>>

It would be great to hear from you! :)

Wishlist Wednesday #2

Hi everyone,

I'm at it again! Lusting after many many more products that I know I shouldn't desire, but do ;)

The much hyped Maybellline Baby Lips range

 I've read a lot about these little babies, some raving as to their amazing moisturising powers and delicious scents. Maybelline writes;
"Lip renew formula and 8-hr hydration for visibly renewed lips in 4 weeks. Clinical care for baby-soft lips."

They come in the scents; Peach Kiss, Grapevine, Peppermint, Pink Punch, Quenched, Cherry Me (as pictured above).

I'm personally attracted to the cutesy and bright packaging and I have to admit I'm also one of those people who love scented makeup products. Therefore, I may have caved and bought one of these a few weeks ago, expecting it in the post any day now :)

The Physician's Formula Happy Booster, Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Rose. It is described as an:

"Ultra-soft and blendable blushing powder with a fresh and vibrant mix of blushing tones infused with a pop of color to create a healthy glow. Featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling of joy each time you apply."

I'm not sure how believable the above statement is but again I am drawn the the stunning packaging of this blusher and love the fact that you can create numerous looks from the one compact.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup

As you guys might know I am a great fan of the original Colorstay, it's one of my holy grail product!

Revlon writes:

"Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy."

Essie nail polish in 723 Knockout Pout
I admit I have a weakness for Essie nail polishes, initially owning 3 in my collection. Recently, I was in Myers with a gift card that was due to expire when I saw a clearance table of Essie polishes. Once I started picking up colours that appealed to me I realised that I needed to rescue as many as possible and give them a good home. Over a few weeks and 2 trips to Myers I ended up with 6 colours :) and even better the ladies working at the beauty counter gave me two freebies with my purchase. I will blog about this in a Essie Haul soon.

BOURJOIS Magic Nail Polish Remover

Again, I'm lured into the much hyped products that come onto the market. A "1 second nail polish remover!" Say whaaaaat?! I know it may seem silly but I really want to try this product, again sweet packaging and also the plus of convenience for travelling.  In the winter time I often find that I paint my nails more regularly, at least 1-2 times a week. Now, with this little gem the task of nail polish removal (my most loathed beauty task) will be even easier! Done :) I haven't seen this in my local Priceline yet but I saw it available on ASOS last week at a great price of $8 or so.

What's on your Wishlist Wednesday? Or any day of the week :)

Have a beautiful day!
